Telecoms Customers Rises to 184.6million, NBS

The NBS said that the 184.69 million represented an increase of 3.08 per cent in voice subscriptions quarter on quarter while it is also represented 6.87 per cent rise when annualised.

In terms of Internet subscription, the NBS put the number of active subscribers at 126.07 million as against 123.16 million in the third quarter of 2019.

This represented 2.37 per cent growth in Internet subscription quarter on quarter.

The report said that Lagos State had the highest number of subscribers in terms of active voice per state in fourth quarter of 2019.

This was closely followed by Kano and Ogun States respectively, while Bayelsa and Ebonyi States had the least number of subscribers.

Similarly, it said Lagos State had the highest number of active Internet subscribers per state in the fourth quarter of 2019. It was closely followed by Kano and Ogun States respectively.

It added that Bayelsa and Ebonyi States had the least number of subscribers.

It said MTN had the highest share of voice subscriptions, closely followed by Glo and Airtel.

Similarly, it said, MTN had the highest share of Internet subscriptions, followed by Airtel and Glo.
